New Year’s Eve will be a lot more exciting this year in Nepal, as a new year’s celebration will begin with fireworks, according to a Nepali government official.
The Nepali National Police said in a press release Tuesday that people who want to celebrate with fireworks should be prepared for “extreme weather conditions.”
This year, Nepali police will launch a new campaign in preparation for the celebration, which will include new displays of colors, new sounds, and music.
People will also be able to “paint their faces with a special color, such as white, blue, red, green or yellow, to help them see the fireworks from a different perspective,” the press release stated.
The release also added that people will also have to wear masks during the celebration.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of Nepal’s independence from Britain.
This year, the government is planning to raise the national flag in Kathmandu’s parliament and on the streets.
This is the first time the national government has formally requested a national flag raising in the country.
The celebrations are expected to last for the next four days.
