Wuhan, China (CNN) — New Year’s Day is just around the corner, and China’s cities are gearing up to bring out the fireworks.
The Chinese capital is already buzzing with celebrations, with crowds filling the streets and fireworks exploding in the air.
In Wuhans newest city, the city of Wuhang, fireworks are set to start at midnight on New Year.
The city has been dubbed the “New Year City” by locals, but the Chinese government says it’s a new year and people should enjoy it as it is, not for celebration.

But it’s not just the Chinese who are celebrating.
Thousands of local businesses are preparing for New Year, which is the Chinese New Year holiday.
A popular theme in Wunches New Year celebration is “The Great One.”
New Year is traditionally the birth of the “Great One,” the ruler of China, and in Wuchans celebration of the birth, the Chinese people take their hats off and start to sing, “The Little One” to the tune of the song by The Who.
New Year celebrations are scheduled in Wudan, the largest city in the region, and Shanghai, the second largest.
In Wuhancan, fireworks set off at 9:45 p.m.
Chinese New Years Eve is also held on the same day, with fireworks going off in Wuzhen and in Shaoxing, the capital of the western province of Shandong.
Shanghai is home, along with Wuhantan, to more people.
In Beijing, the first-ever fireworks show is scheduled to start in Wufang, a city that has more than 1.3 million residents.
Wufan’s fireworks are scheduled to be visible for a few hours before the fireworks show starts, and the fireworks are also set to explode in the night sky, according to Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.
There are plans for other cities to host fireworks shows this year.
Shanghai has already had fireworks show planned for New Years Day.
The celebration is being organized by the city’s municipal government, with local governments in other cities also invited to participate.
In Shanghai, a group of locals will gather to watch fireworks.
(ABC News/Reuters)In Wuzhang, the western city where Wuhankan is located, people are planning to watch the fireworks and take part in the celebrations.
“We will do everything possible to make this a great New Year for Wuzhans people, and for China,” the city council said in a statement.
New year fireworks are not allowed in cities that are part of the city.
